I just got this bike in February and have finally got it set up to my liking. So far I’m really enjoying the bike and like having a very lightweight hard tail in the lineup.
The bike came with SRAM NX shifter and derailleur which is barely serviceable for someone like me who actually rides their bikes. The new stuff is SRAM XO which is second from the top of their line up. In addition to the shifter and rear derailleur , I have put carbon bars, a carbon seat post, new front tire, and new larger grips onto the bike. I think I’m done for now until I kill the rear wheel.

Road bikes are definitely the definition of adding lightness through bank account. I have a Giant TCR A from 2012 I occasionally throw cash at though which is funny because you're spending $$ vs grams if weight.

Nice upgrades! Just curious, why no dropper?

To be decided at a later date. My stump jumper has a dropper and I am not planning on hucking this bike.

Yep I know the drill.
I have a pretty nice BMC road bike have seen no reason to upgrade since I don’t race.

So wild to see a cog set larger than the chain ring.

I’ve lost track of how SRAM grades their gear but I’m assuming that NX is base then GX, XO and XO1? I haven’t run SRAM shifters in a while but do recall night and day between X5 and X7 shifters on one bike...
Since I finished the DirtRoadie (based on a Niner RLT) I have pleasantly enjoyed not working on bikes. Now if I could only ride them more often!

Cheaper to lose body weight!

That’s fair. It's just such a game changer if you do any elevation change at all, as you obviously know.

Yep, advantage of being fat, I can’t justify big money to shed a few ounces on the bike when really I need to lose about 50 pounds.

That’s a 10-50 cassette with a 30 tooth front ring. Yes it looks really strange.

NX is like X 5, it’s amazing they can get it to work at all with a 12 speed cassette. I got the XO shifting great in a few minutes.

There are some 27.2 droppers out there, I bet by the end of summer I’ll have a dropper on this bike.
